A neighbor is someone who has helped another in their community in distress, trouble or adversity unselfishly and without any personal consideration whatsoever, one who has made a significant impact upon the lives of others. No one better embodies this definition of a neighbor more than Fran Stainback.

A Highland Lakes resident for more than 11 years, she has served her community faithfully and joyfully throughout the years. On June 5, 2018 at the home of Marilyn Chiaramonte and Peter Bibbo, The Highland Lakes Women’s Club recognized Fran Stainback with a Lifetime Achievement Award for all of her effort and leadership to the Highland Lakes community and the Highland Lakes Women’s Club.

Around 60 friends and neighbors were on hand for this surprise celebration to honor this amazing lady. Fran was presented with a beautiful crystal engraved disc. Friends and neighbors had been asked to write a few words about Fran and express how she had impacted their life. The responses were bound into a scrapbook that was also presented to her that night. As part of the tribute, Pat Numnum read an original poem created for the occasion and presented Fran with a handmade commemorative quilt depicting various houses representing the Highland Lakes community in which she has served so graciously. As a friend and neighbor of this incredible woman, I, along with many others, have been enriched and blessed by knowing her.
