Holidays to cause adjustment of city offices’ hours, services

The cities of Chelsea and Hoover will be closing their public offices for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. Library and recreational building closures vary.

The Chelsea City Hall, Library and Community Center will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Waste Pro will not be servicing the area on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, or New Year’s Day. Trash pickup will be moved back a day for each day not serviced.

Hoover Municipal Building will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Hoover Library will be closed Dec. 23 through Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. 

Santek garbage and trash pickup will not be servicing the Hoover area Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or New Year’s Day, and pickup will be moved back a day for each day not serviced.

The Hoover Recreation Center will be open Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve from 8 a.m. to noon and closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Shelby County offices will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Shelby County garbage pickup will not be servicing the area Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or New Year’s Day, and pickup will be moved back a day for each day not serviced.

The Alabama Department of Revenue Jefferson-Shelby Taxpayer Service Center will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, as well.
