Carmike Summit 16

Carmike Summit 16 is calling all gamers.

On Saturday, April 30, the Carmike Summit 16 Theater in Birmingham will be transformed to host a new, four-week Minecraft Gaming Series called “Rise of Heroes.” Gamers of all ages will compete on the big screen for a chance to win a $15,000 team scholarship.

Minecraft “Rise of Heroes” will be held Saturdays through May 21 and will be hosted by Super League Gaming. Gamers and their families are invited to come to the theater and play face-to-face in a fully immersive gameplay environment. Players will compete against thousands of others in 80 theaters all over the world and after each week, will be able to check the Super League Gaming Leaderboard to see where their points rank in the world standings.

Interested players must participate in all four league sessions in order to earn series-wide competition points. After the April 30 session, however, players can still participate in individual sessions by purchasing single event tickets. Tickets must be purchased in advance at www.superleage.com/carmike for $60 to participate in the 4-week tournament or $20 for individual tickets after April 30.

Gameplay starts at 10:00 a.m.

Players must bring their own, fully-charged laptops.
