The Mountain Brook Art Association is hosting its ninth annual holiday art show at The Summit from Nov. 23 to Dec. 23.

The show will be in the “North Pole” with Santa Claus next door to The Summit’s AMC Summit 16.

Originally held in English Village as a four-hour show with the proceeds going to charity, it later expanded to a two-week affair at Brookwood Village. The 2018 holiday seasons makes two years that the show has been held at The Summit, but this year it has grown to a month-long show.

The show will be open every day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and members of the MBAA will be present to give painting demos. Weekend visitors will have the opportunity to sit for their own charcoal portrait. Actual artwork available for sale will range from $10 to a few thousand dollars in price.

The MBAA has adopted the Hand in Paw Assisted Therapy organization as its charity again, and shop visitors can expect to see a few of their four-legged friends on site. A schedule of Hand in Paw appearances will be posted to the MBAA website, along with a schedule of times for their demo artists.

More than 200 local painters are members of the MBAA. To be applicable for membership, artists need to live within 25 miles of Mountain Brook City Hall. Learn more at mountainbrookartassociation.com.
