New Neighbors League raises $4,000 for research

The New Neighbors League Club of Birmingham raised $4,000 for ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) for research to help eradicate this disease.

Dr. Peter H. King, vice chair of UAB’s Department of Neurology, attended the May club luncheon at The Club and was presented a check by Chela Stephenson-Colvin and Dorothy Veil.

The club raised this money by sponsoring a mahjong tournament in May, with more than 80 people participating.
