St. Francis Music Academy (SFMA) has partial scholarships that are still available for students enrolling for the 2017 fall semester.

Featuring a world-class faculty, including members of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra and other professional musicians who have distinguished themselves as performing artists around the globe, the Academy is open to students of all ages and offers a rare level of music instruction in piano, voice, violin, viola, cello, flute, trumpet, guitar and harp, as well as chamber music, choral instruction, music theory and musicianship. Also offered are Music Together family classes designed for parents, grandparents and caregivers with children ages birth through 5 years. Two open houses featuring various SFMA classes have been scheduled for fall 2017, on Oct. 14 and Nov. 18, at 11 a.m., and everyone is invited to participate.

Operating as an extension of the music ministry of The Episcopal Church of St. Francis of Assisi, under the direction of Dr. Alina Voicu, Director of Music, SFMA also offers monthly music corner activities and concerts, open to the larger community free of charge. During fall 2017, concerts are scheduled on Oct. 15, Nov. 19, and Dec. 10, at 3 p.m. Grounded in the belief that music has a unique ability to affect the human condition and impact society, SFMA invites and welcomes everyone to attend.

SFMA operates on an open enrollment system, and registration forms and the SFMA Calendar are available online at saintfrancismusic.org or at The Episcopal Church of St. Francis of Assisi (3545 Cahaba Valley Road, Indian Springs, AL 35124; Phone: 988-4371). For more information about SFMA programs, scholarships, Open Houses and concerts, go to the SFMA website or facebook.com/saintfrancismusic or email Dr. Voicu at avoicu@saintfrancismusic.org.
