With five weeks left to go before Christmas, The Summit invited the community to officially get the season going with its annual tree lighting ceremony.

Lights Up featured the annual Christmas parade, which began at Barnes & Noble and wound through the parking lot, showering kids and kids at heart with candy and a chance to see Santa on a decked-out fire truck.

At the end of the parade, Santa disembarked and — using a larger than life switch — lit up the Summit tree.

The event, which was complete with fake snow and real food trucks, was finished off with a fireworks display.

The Summit will have additional holiday-themed events this season, including Santa Paws on Nov. 26, where shoppers can bring their pet for a photo with Santa.
