Movie theaters are not just for movies anymore.

On Saturday, Dec. 12, gamers are invited to the Carmike Summit 16 Cinema for an afternoon of Minecraft. The in-theater gaming experience is hosted by Super League Gaming.

Gamers and their families are invited to come to the theater and play face-to-face in a fully immersive gameplay environment.

There are no limits on age or experience level, and the event kicks off at 10:30 a.m. Tickets for the first 100-minute session costs $20 per player, but parents or caregivers are welcome to stay and cheer for free.

Players must bring their own laptops, and they will be divided into team to build and battle. Participants will play Super League’s “theater mode” which projects their actions on-screen.

“We know gamers really want to get out of their rooms and start playing video games in a much more social atmosphere surrounded by like-minded peers,” said Super League Gaming President and COO Brett Morris. “We’re transforming theaters into fun, loud, interactive gaming arenas so players can have a safe and creative space to compete. We think this is the future of gaming and the response from both kids and parents has been overwhelming.”
