Despite looming clouds, the city of Chelsea's first Chelsea Fest attracted a crowd of around 2,500.

The July 1 event included food trucks, a kid's area with bounce houses, live music and culminated with the Big Kaboom, Chelsea's annual fireworks show.

Mayor Tony Picklesimer said he was happy to see such a large turnout for the event, even with the threat of rain on the horizon. He thanked all of the city employees, volunteers and sponsors who supported the event and helped put it all together.
