The TumTum Tree Foundation’s 28th annual charity wine auction at the end of November resulted in record-breaking fundraising for the Foundation.

On March 21, TumTum Tree Foundation distributed $680,000 to its beneficiaries.

The TumTum Tree Foundation’s 28th annual charity wine auction from Nov. 2-4 resulted in record-breaking fundraising for the Foundation.

Along with those Alabama charities, the TumTum Tree Foundation gave 5 percent of proceeds to wildfire relief efforts in Northern California in honor of the support from winemakers in the region over the years, according to a press release.

The auction weekend began on Thursday, Nov. 2 with a tasting at Regions Field. There were more than 30 wineries and local distributors and a silent auction at the event.

Following the tasting and silent auction, guests were able to go to 12 winemaker dinners around Birmingham.

“The 28th Annual Auction truly blew us all away,” said Libby Sibley, executive director of the TumTum Tree Foundation. “We are deeply grateful for both the support from donors and bidders who have remained long-time attendees and those who are new or returning to the auction. With a solid foundation from years of good work and strong relationships and the momentum from the success of the 2017 auction, we have high hopes for the future of the foundation and its beneficiaries.”

The mission of the TumTum Tree Foundation is to enrich the lives of children in Alabama facing life-threatening and life-altering illnesses.
