Every Thursday near Pottery Barn, the Urban Cookhouse Farmers Market brings out farmers, bakers and craft vendors to encourage local community members to take a break from shopping and check out The Summit's farmers market.

The market runs from 3-7 p.m, and gets more crowded around 5:30 p.m., when more people are able to stop by after work. The market offers free water, face painting and occasional children activities. The goal of the farmers market is to provide fresh foods and products to the community as well as marketing for the farms across the Birmingham and Alabama area.

The last market of the season is Aug. 17.

If you are interested in becoming a vendor, email info@urbancookhouse.com
