Ruth and Paul Wills celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary, and 90th birthdays, at luau in June.

The event was held at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Douglas Dickinson, in Inverness. The couple’s six children, 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren traveled from all over the U.S. to attend.

The couple met in the tenth grade at Oakwood High School in Dayton, Ohio, and married June 19, 1943.

Paul flew for General George Patton in World War II and served as on the Taylor University Board of Trustees for 11 years and Moody Bible Institute Board of Trustees for 21 years. He also received an honorary doctorate of law from Moody Bible Institute and served on church boards of trustees and as a Sunday school teacher for many years. Professionally, he built and owned four trucking companies.

The Wills lived in Highland Lakes for 17 years and now reside at Danberry Cottage.
