Chelsea High School senior recognized for citizenship

Morgan Bramblett, a senior at Chelsea High School, was recently awarded the DAR Good Citizen Award by the Lily of the Cahaba Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Bramblett is the daughter of Kristi and Robert Bramblett of Birmingham.

The Good Citizens Award was established in 1930 by the Daughters of the American Revolution and recognizes a senior high student who demonstrates outstanding patriotism, leadership, service and dependability.  Each school may honor only one senior class student per year as their DAR Good Citizen.

DAR was founded in 1890 to promote history preservation, patriotism and education.  With more than 177,000 in 3,000 chapters worldwide, DAR is one of the world’s largest and most active service organizations.  Any woman is eligible for membership who is at least 18 years of age and can prove lineal, blood descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence.  For more information about membership in the Lily of the Cahaba Chapter, based in Hoover, email lilyofthecahaba@gmail.com.
