Hoover City Schools Foundation to hold drug prevention, awareness breakfasts
The Hoover City Schools Foundation is planning three drug awareness and prevention breakfasts for parents at Hoover’s three middle schools.
The first is this Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Simmons Middle School, while the others will be Oct. 18 at Berry Middle and Nov. 1 at Bumpus Middle. Each of the breakfasts will be from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m.
Parents will have an opportunity to learn about drug trends and risks from law enforcement officers, district attorneys, prevention specialists and treatment specialists. The program will cover topics such as drug prevention, signs and symptoms, and how to intervene appropriately.
The foundation also plans to holding a “Let’s Keep Talking Parent Night” from 6 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 15 at a location yet to be determined.
