Jaried Buxton, an eighth grade student at Oak Mountain Middle School, was chosen from 130 students across the world to represent his school and the state of Alabama this summer at the 2012 Student Climate Conservation Congress (SC3).

The conference was held in June at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s National Conservation Training Center in Shepherdstown, W.Va. The mission of SC3 is to empower environmental leaders with the skills, knowledge and tools necessary to address natural resource conservation challenges and better serve their schools and communities.
