OMHS robotics team assists member in earning Eagle rank

Lane Scott of Troop 533 has recently completed his Eagle Scout project with the help of his troop mates and several members of Oak Mountain High School’s robotics team.

The group collected and rolled newspapers and landscaped an area at the Shelby Humane Society for the project. This area was created for prospective adopters to socialize with pets to ensure that they are the right fit for their families and for the volunteers to spend their breaks.

Lane and his group trimmed back several overgrown trees, planted shrubs and plants around the trees, and mulched the areas. They created a gravel and stepping stone pathway in an area of heavy foot traffic where the grass had been trampled. Finally, they added a paw print patio surrounded by benches.
