Shelby County, Hoover City Schools to resume normal operations on Friday

Shelby County Schools are set to resume normal operations on Friday, Jan. 19, according to school officials.

The school system had been closed Monday through Thursday of this week for Martin Luther King Jr. Day and then three days of winter weather. Icy roads and low temperatures were some of the reasons cited for school closures.

Also in the county, the city of Chelsea and Shelby County Sheriff's Office reopened and went back to normal on Thursday, Jan. 18. Hoover City Schools operated on a two-hour delay on Thursday, but will return to regular hours on Friday.
