280 teams prepare for Friday games

The Oak Mountain Eagles (2-0), coming off an emotional win over Vestavia Hills last Friday, travel to the Hoover Met to face second-ranked Hoover (1-2) on Friday at 7 p.m. Coach Cris Bell's Eagles picked up some votes in the Alabama Sports Writers Association poll this week. 

Spain Park (3-0) moved up to No. 3 in this week's ASWA poll after demolishing Thompson last week. The Jaguars travel to Northport to take on unbeaten Tuscaloosa County (2-0) in a Class 7A, Region 3 contest Friday. Kickoff is 7 p.m. 

Briarwood Christian (1-1) knocked off Jackson-Olin last week for its first win. The Lions travel to Homewood (1-2) for a key Class 6A, Region 5 game. Friday's kickoff is 7 p.m.

Chelsea (2-0) hits the road Friday to Chambers County to face Valley High in a Class 6A, Region 3 game. The game kicks off at 7 p.m. CDT at Ram Stadium at the Valley Sportsplex. Valley (3-0) rallied from a 21-3 deficit to stun Oxford 25-21 last week. Chelsea beat Southside Gadsden 16-13 on Zalon Reynolds' touchdown run.
