Briarwood's Simmons named Player of the Week

Ethan Simmons, who led the Briarwood Christian Lions defense to their third shutout in four games, has been named Player of the Week by 280 Living.

In its 22-0 win, Briarwood permitted the Chilton County offense to cross midfield once, and held the Tigers to a paltry 167 yards of total offense.

The defense was led by Ethan Simmons, who led the Lions with nine tackles and a 46-yard fumble recovery return.

Briarwood (5-2) travels to Ramsay this week for a stern test away from their own campus.
