by

The Briarwood Christian Lions pitched its second shutout in three weeks, dominating Talladega 23-0 for an important win against a region opponent.

Leading only 8-0 at the half, the Lions were boosted by quarterback Walker Lott’s two touchdown passes. Lott was an effective field general, adding 60 yards rushing to direct the Lions’ offense.

The suffocating Lions defense was led by Travis Hightower, who returned a fumble for a touchdown to provide the game’s only first half score.  Blythe Woods and Victor Jerald caught touchdown passes for the Lions.

This week, Briarwood (4-2, 3-1) puts its outstanding region record on the line against Chilton County.
