Connor Coleman won the Class 7A tennis state championship in No. 4 singles play on Tuesday, as an 8th-grader playing on the varsity team. Another 8th-grader, Sydney Ellison, also took home a state championship, playing No. 1 doubles with her older sister Daryn.

The Ellison sisters qualified for the state tournament as a tandem, giving the Jags 12 points and a fifth place finish overall with their title.

The boys team qualified for state, and along with Coleman, Ryan Stafford reached the final in No. 6 singles. Jack Satterfield reached the semifinals at No. 5, and Garrett Hartsock, Ty Sovic, and Dalton Holladay also competed.

In doubles play, Hartsock and Sovic were quarterfinalists in No. 1 doubles. Holladay and Satterfield were the No. 2 doubles team, and Coleman and Sam Johnson reached the final at No. 3, to give the team a fourth place finish.
