Oak Mountain High School alum David Dahl's dream has been realized, as he was called up to the Colorado Rockies on Monday.

He was penciled into the Rockies lineup in the sixth position, playing left field on Monday night.

Dahl, a star with the Eagles, has dominated the Double-A and Triple-A minor league levels this year, hitting for a combined .314 average, 18 home runs, and 61 RBIs.

He participated in the All-Star Futures Game, playing on the United States team, and notching an outfield assist on an impressive throw to home plate to beat the runner.

He holds Oak Mountain records for career batting average (.421), hits (157), runs scored (119), doubles (44), and RBIs (98), and hit .449 in 2011.

Dahl was selected in the first round of the 2012 MLB Draft, and elected to sign with the Rockies instead of attending school at Auburn University.
