Himic, Wise receive 2017 all-conference accolades

A pair of local Birmingham-Southern College baseball players were recently named to the all-conference team after strong 2017 seasons.

Stephen Himic, a product of Indian Springs School, was named pitcher of the year in the Southern Athletic Association. He posted a 9-0 record and a league-best 1.94 earned run average. He threw four complete games and three shutouts.

Tyler Wise, a member of the 2014 Spain Park High School Class 6A state championship team, was named the conference’s first-team designated hitter. He hit for a .288 average with eight home runs and 53 RBIs on the year.
