Lions' season ends in playoffs

Briarwood Christian saw its season come to an end at the hands of Oxford in the first round of the Class 6A state baseball playoffs on Friday, April 22. Oxford swept the Lions, taking wins by 6-0 and 6-2 margins.

In the first game, Sam Strickland pitched all six innings for Briarwood, allowing six runs (three earned) on seven hits. 

Briarwood notched six hits, all from three players. Carson Eddy, Strickland, and Luis Fuentes each got two hits apiece, despite the Lions not being able to put a run on the board.

In the finale, Logan Whittlesey hurled 5.1 innings, and only one of the six runs he allowed was earned. Eddy and Jake Morris drove in runs for the Lions, and Kolby Kwarcinski registered a pair of hits and scored a run.
