The Oak Mountain boys and girls are both in the Class 7A state soccer semifinals.

The girls face Bob Jones at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Huntsville's John Hunt Park. The boys tangle with the Bob Jones boys at 3:45 p.m. Friday.

Auburn and McGill-Toolen are on the other side of the girls bracket. Auburn and Fairhope are on the other side of the boys bracket.

The girls reached the state semifinals by knocking off Vestavia Hills 2-1 on penalty kicks. The boys also advanced on penalty kicks over Hoover by the same score.

Winners play Saturday for the state championships. Times have not yet been announced.

While every trip to the state semifinals is special, Oak Mountain has been here before. In fact, the Lady Eagles are looking for a repeat, having won Class 6A in 2014. They also won the state crown in 2012. The boys have state championship trophies from 2011, 2008, 2007 and 2005.

But this is an opportunity to be the first champion of the new Class 7A division.
