Oak Mountain Eagles clipped by Clay Chalkville, 50-22

Clay Chalkville jumped out to a 21-7 first quarter lead and never looked back, defeating Oak Mountain 50-22.

A young time on the rise, Oak Mountain ended its season against Clay with an impressive offensive showing.  The Shader brothers, Warren and Harold, led the Eagles with a combined 155 yards rushing.

The difference in the game was three costly Oak Mountain turnovers that led directly to Clay Chalkville touchdowns.

Despite the final 4-6 record, Oak Mountain was highly competitive throughout the year.  For that, Eagles Head Coach Cris Bell is grateful.

"Our kids play hard, and they work hard off the field," Bell explained.  "At a lot of programs, a few losses cause kids to quit working.  Not us.  I'm so proud of this group and the way they have hung together.  It's a tribute to our kids and the way they have been raised at home."

For Oak Mountain, the future is bright.

"We lose some great seniors who have shown leadership," Bell added.  "We also return excellent players next year who will be highly recruited by colleges.  I like where this program is headed.  We're growing and building together."
