Oak Mountain edges Chelsea in offensive shootout, Spain Park up next

The Oak Mountain ground game proved insurmountable, leading to a 31-21 win over the Chelsea Hornets.

Harold Shader rushed for a touchdown and 98 yards on just five carries to lead Oak Mountain.  Shader was joined by Gaylon Lloyd’s 92 yards and 69 yards by Josh Gaines.

The two teams had similar rushing totals, 277 to 250, although Oak Mountain prevailed in the shootout.

Chelsea (2-4, 0-4) was led in its ground attack by A.J. Jones, who found the end zone with touchdown runs of 41 and 13 yards.

Next week, the Hornets travel for a clash against Wetumpka.

Oak Mountain travels to Spain Park for a match against the undefeated Jaguars.
