Oak Mountain girls advance to Class 7A soccer final

Lauren Beard and Alexandra Dunn each scored goals to power Oak Mountain to a 2-0 win over Bob Jones in the girls Class 7A soccer state semifinals in Huntsville.  

Both goals came in the first half and the Lady Eagles defense made them stand up. Beard scored at the 1:40 mark of the half and Dunn scored with 9:20 before half.

Oak Mountain will face Auburn, a 1-0 winner over McGill-Toolen, in the championship match on Saturday at 10 a.m. in Huntsville at John Hunt Park. Oak Mountain is seeking to repeat as state champion, having won the 6A title last season.
