Oak Mountain spoiled Senior Night at Clay-Chalkville, with a 52-45 win over the Cougars on Friday night.

The Eagles led for the first 20 minutes of the game, but surrendered the lead on a 10-1 run from Clay-Chalkville. Oak Mountain restored the game to form, however, ending the third quarter on an 8-0 run to take a two-point edge into the final quarter.

Things got hairy again in the fourth quarter, as Clay-Chalkville's Keithan Parker stole a pass and scored on the other end to give the Cougars a 41-40 lead with 6:09 to play. The Eagles came right back on the next possession, as the ball somehow found its way into Will Stephenson's hand for a three-pointer after a crazy play. Stephenson scored eight points in the contest.

Clay-Chalkville appeared to score on the next play, as point guard Jalen Jordan put the ball in the basket, but the hoop was waved off due to a jump ball. Oak Mountain scored the next trip down the floor and did not trail again.

Yeadon Patrick scored 12 points in the first quarter for Oak Mountain, including a three-pointer from the corner at the buzzer. He ended the night with 14.

Top Clay-Chalkville scorers included Jordan (13 points), Parker (eight), Nico Collins (six), and Anthony Holmes (six).

Wyatt Armstrong hit a timely three-pointer in the third quarter and scored nine points in the game. Payton Youngblood scored ten points.

Oak Mountain plays again in the Class 7A, Area 5 tournament, beginning Thursday, Feb. 11, against Tuscaloosa County.
