Westminster-Oak Mountain hosts swim meet

Westminster-Oak Mountain hosted the Westminster Autumn Invitational Swim and Dive meet Saturday, Oct. 15, at the Hoover Recreation Center.  Westminster was joined by several Birmingham-area teams, as well as teams from Huntsville, Grissom, Walker and Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa.

The Homewood girls won nine of 12 events, outdistancing second place Huntsville, while the Huntsville boys outpaced Homewood, winning seven of the 12 boys events. For the girls, individual standouts were Birch Ely and Isabel Blish from Homewood, with two individual first place finishes for each. For the boys, Hayden Carroll and William Crawford of Huntsville each also had two individual first place finishes.
