Newk's arriving in Inverness

Something homemade, fresh and made for express dining is coming to Inverness Corners.

Three wasn’t enough for the demand of the Birmingham area, so Newk’s Express Café is planning to open three additional locations. One is planned to open the end of September off US 280.

Newk’s is a casual dining experience based out of Jackson, Miss., and they are serving up homemade pizzas, sandwiches, soups and salads. According to sales and marketing representative Paige Gilliland, Newk’s has been spreading nationwide with a total of 76 restaurants.

“We are absolutely thrilled,” Gilliland said. “We think there are definitely enough people who support the new locations and we have been listening to our customers for years talk about how they would like us to be closer to where they live and where they work.”

 Gilliland said, Birmingham residents can expect what they have come to love about the other Birmingham locations — the same great service, friendly smiles from all the employees and excellent catering opportunities for all.

Inverness Corners has been growing rapidly and Gilliland said she thinks Newk’s is the perfect addition to that growth.
