2016 Beauty Awards Chase Corporate
Chase Corporate Center in Riverchase won the Hoover Beautification Board's 2016 commercial beautification award for large office complexes, as well as the 2016 Tree Conservation Award.
Four businesses in the U.S. 280 corridor made the Hoover Beautification Board's list of the most beautiful commercial properties in the city for 2016.
The Beautification Board gives out its commercial beautification awards every two years.
The top winner this year is Hoover Fire Station No. 4 on Municipal Drive. The fire station is this year’s winner of the Mayor’s Award, given to the property with the most points as determined by a panel of three judges.
Properties were judged on: overall appearance of the building and grounds; creativity with entrance features, trees, seasonal color beds and other woody vegetation; and design, color coordination, use of natural features and blending in with the surroundings.
Other 2016 winners included:
- Single-tenant business — E.A. Renfroe & Co. in Meadow Brook Corporate Park
- Shopping center or strip mall — Riverchase Galleria
- Restaurants — Superior Grill on U.S. 280
- Hotels and motels — Homewood Suites in Riverchase
- Banks — U.S. Ameribank, Meadowbrook branch

Three businesses also remain on the Beautification Board’s Honor Roll, which is for businesses that at some point won awards at least three consecutive times: Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama, Danberry at Inverness retirement community and the Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort & Spa.
This year’s judges were landscape architect Chuck Kelly, landscape designer Denise Obert and arborist Jim Paramore.
To be considered for an award, all properties must be completely in the city limits of Hoover and comply with all city ordinances.
Judging took place in late June, and winners are scheduled to be recognized Aug. 9 at a luncheon at the Riverchase Country Club. Winners will receive a Beautification Board sign to place on their property for two years.
