Drayer Physical Therapy
Drayer Physical Therapy is opening a new office in Chelsea.
Drayer Physical Therapy Institute relocated one of its 10 Birmingham locations to Chelsea. The center opens Aug. 31 and will specialize in orthopedics, pediatrics, sports medicine, occupational rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation, fall prevention, TMJ dysfunction and spinal traction therapy.
“This is a strategic move to bring our service to more communities along the Highway 280 corridor,” said Tracy Causey, regional vice president for Drayer. “It is an area that encompasses Interstate 459 to Chelsea and southern Shelby County.”
Relocating will help Drayer better serve the community along the U.S. 280 corridor, Causey said. The Chelsea office is a relocation of what is currently closer to the Greystone community. Causey said the motivation behind the move stems from a future office, which will be located across the street from Grandview Medical Hospital at U.S. 280 and I-459.
An office in Chelsea will also be a homecoming for clinical director Kelley Zajac, Causey said. Zajac worked in the Chelsea community with another outpatient center before coming to Drayer.
“When she came to Drayer, we brought her on board and into the Greystone clinic with aspirations of eventually getting her back to the Chelsea community,” Causey said.
Relocating to Chelsea also builds on established relationships with the Chelsea school system, Causey said, including athletic trainers that serve the area sports teams.
The center is located at 104 Chelsea Point Drive, next to Sonic. It will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the week and by appointment on Saturdays.
