SEE, a fashion eyewear brand, is one of two new stores opening at The Summit.
Two retailers will open their first stores in the state at The Summit this fall. SEE, a fashionable eyewear brand, and Peloton stationary bikes will be the newest additions to the shopping center.
SEE Eyewear will be located next to Lush and offer a collection of trendy frames at affordable prices. Each style comes in limited quantities, giving customers a one-of-a kind look.
Susan Berryman, vice president of marketing for SEE, said they are excited to bring their brand to Birmingham, a city that has been on their hot list for a long time. This will be the 45th store for the retailer, which has been in business for 21 years and has locations from coast to coast.
“The thing that sets us apart is that we have exclusive and original collections,” Berryman said. “We work with top designers around the world and our in-house designers create our own collection that we sell in our stores.”
Berryman said most eyeglass designers have a similar look and feel, but SEE is the opposite of that. They work to create an eclectic collection to fit their customers’ varying styles. They produce everything in limited quantities, only creating 80 to 100 of every color and style. Once they sell out, they are gone.
“In Birmingham, you may have one or two other people who have the same frames, so running into someone else with your frame is almost impossible,” she said.
At SEE, non-prescription sunglasses are $99 and the eyeglass collection starts at $169, including single vision lenses.
“The Summit is the perfect location for us,” Berryman said. “We have a stringent location criteria and [Birmingham’s] local demographic fits our unique vibe.”
The target opening date for SEE is Nov. 1.
Also new to The Summit will be Peloton. Located near Williams-Sonoma, it will bring its indoor cycling concept of in-home stationary bikes to a retail showroom to “elevate the brand beyond its traditional e-commerce reach.”
Customers can visit the showroom to take a test class on the Peloton Bike or Tread, receive a personalized tutorial and learn more about the live studio experience they will get at home. Prices start at $2,245 and, with a Peloton membership, customers have unlimited access to a library of live streaming and on-demand classes.
As of press time, Peloton had not set an opening date. For more information, visit onepeloton.com/showrooms/us_al_birmingham.
“Our team is committed to bringing unique, best-in-class experiences to the Birmingham community, and we are thrilled to welcome two new leading concepts to The Summit,” said Carver Boynton, general manager at The Summit. “With the addition of SEE and Peloton, The Summit is now home to over 40 first-to-state retailers.”
Other recent additions to The Summit include Mobley & Sons and Lovesac, Ulta, UNTUCKit, Tempur-Pedic, Anthony Vince Nail Spa, Molly Green and The Woodhouse Day Spa. Sephora and Bath & Body Works opened newly remodeled stores in May.
