Swoozie’s at The Summit is toasting a decade of business in Birmingham on Wednesday, Oct. 7.
To celebrate, Swoozie’s is offering discounts throughout the day and hosting a party from 5-7 p.m.
“The long and short is that the purpose of the event is to celebrate the Birmingham community and thank our loyal customers we’ve known, whether for six months or 10 years,” said Ashley O’Donnell, marketing director for Swoozie’s.
There will be a 10 percent discount throughout the day, and that discount will increase to 20 percent from 5-7 p.m. Along with the draw of a discount, Swoozie’s is also showcasing local artists at the event. O’Donnell said these vendors will have some items that are “one-time offerings” at Swoozie’s. Their participation also offers a chance for shoppers to connect with local creators, she said.
Ten percent of the money made on Oct. 7 will be donated to the Exceptional Foundation. O’Donnell said she hopes this, along with the approaching holidays, will encourage guests to shop and subsequently give back that day.
“I feel like come Oct. 1, the feeling that the holidays are here really sets in for customers, so getting to kick off the holiday season with these great discounts, friends, local community members and artists, is really the most exciting thing about coming,” O’Donnell said.
Guests can RSVP to the event by emailing swoocrew@swoozies.com, and the first 25 guests to RSVP will receive a bag full of "Swoo." College students will also receive an unlimited vinyl personalization pass, $50 printing pass and two free monogramming passes for October by showing their college ID.
There will also be designer giveaways throughout the evening, valued at $100 each.
