Receiving is a conduit of giving for Celeste Heavenly Boutique proprietor Meredith Horton.
“Our benchmark of success is having a business that allows us to assist charities, missions, nonprofit organizations and local needs,” Horton said.
In the first year of business alone, customer purchases resulted in donations to King’s Ranch, Alabama Childhood Food Solutions, mission teams, local charities, families in need and schools.
Located next to Taziki’s in the Lee Branch shopping center, the Christian boutique specializes in clothing and accessories geared toward teens, adults and maturing stylish women.
“Because we offer clothing to all generations, it’s a great place to spend time with your mom and your daughter,” Horton said.
Seating is available within the store, where women can gather to give input on which finishing touches best express the wearer’s personality. “I love hearing women laugh and enjoy time together. It’s not unusual for me to join in. I’ve enjoyed meeting so many women that come into the boutique and building friendships with people I may not have met otherwise,” she said.
Horton believes most women prefer to touch, feel and try on merchandise in person. However, online sales are part of the five-year plan, allowing more customers to support this Christian boutique on a mission.
“Helping others feel good and be confident about their outward appearance is our goal at the boutique,” Horton said. “Most importantly, I have enjoyed the talks had with so many customers about faith and what God is doing in our lives.”
