Breanna Sexton of RE/MAX Southern Homes in the 280 area believes the real estate business is about more than just volume and numbers. Her goal is to put smiles on the faces of her clients.
“There’s nothing like getting a call from a client a week afterward, and they are still happy,” Breanna said.
One of her main goals is to ensure her clients have a good customer experience. When clients choose to do business with Breanna, they work directly with her — one-on-one. She knows she’s been successful when she gets the right home for her clients and they are truly happy end to end.
Comments from satisfied customers affirm that they like her approach.
“It was a pleasure working with Breanna! She was very committed to helping us find our first house. We had a lot of questions throughout the process, and she always took the time to answer our questions,” one client said.
Another customer said: “Breanna is amazing. She has helped us with so many options to choose from. She is always willing to show us something else or work around our schedule.”
Breanna says she loves working with people. Her extensive knowledge of the many different neighborhoods around Birmingham comes from living in the area for the past 16 years.
Her love of the field of real estate is in her blood. Breanna’s father inspired her to get into the business. Both her parents have bought, sold and handled rental homes for as long as she can remember. She decided to take a leap of faith and get into real estate.
As with any field, there are some downsides. One reality is that some clients prefer working with male agents.
“I just feel like sometimes people don’t recognize women and their strengths and what they can do,” Breanna said. “I explain the facts and go from there. If they prefer to work with a male, I’ll send them on their way. It’s not worth that argument if they’re stuck in that mindset.”
One of the bonuses of this work is being able to set her own course. “There are no limits for those who want to work hard,” Breanna said. She loves the fact that she can grow her own business.
When she was deciding on whether to launch her own business, she got a lot of advice. “Oh, owning your own business will be easy. You can set your own hours, it will be great,” some said.
These people forgot to mention that she would have to pay her own taxes, fund her own health insurance and deal with IRS red tape.
Even with her hectic schedule, Breanna finds time to give back to the community. She has served on the board of directors for Focus on Recovery, a women’s facility that helps women who are in secondary treatment from addiction issues, and Kid One Transport, a medical transport of impoverished children. These charities are underserved, according to Breanna.
