Shake Shack grand opening
The Summit Birmingham 214 Summit Blvd, Birmingham, Alabama 35243
We’re shakin’ up the Magic City! Shake Shack® is thrilled to announce it will open its first-ever Alabama Shack at The Summit at Birmingham, Birmingham’s premier mixed-use shopping, dining and entertainment destination on Wednesday, Aug. 22 at 11 a.m. The Birmingham Shack will be located on a prominent corner location in the northern part of the shopping center at 200 Summit Blvd., Birmingham, AL.
Shake Shack is a critically acclaimed, modern day “roadside” burger stand known for its 100 percent all-natural Angus beef burgers, chicken sandwiches and griddled flat-top dogs (no hormones or antibiotics – ever), fresh-made frozen custard, crispy crinkle cut fries and more. A fun and lively community gathering place with widespread appeal, Shake Shack has earned a cult-like following around the world.
In additions to the Shack classics, the Birmingham Shack will be spinning up a unique selection of frozen custard concretes:
- Pie Oh My: vanilla custard and slice of Four & Twenty Blackbirds seasonal pie
- Birming Graham: vanilla custard, lemon curd, marshmallow sauce and graham crackers
- Shack Attack: chocolate custard, fudge sauce, chocolate truffle cookie dough, Mast Brothers Shake Shack dark chocolate chunks, topped with chocolate sprinkles
The menu will also feature a Birmingham-exclusive fry in collaboration with Alabama favorite, Big Bob Gibson Bar-B-Q. The Big Bob’s Cheese Fries feature crinkle-cut fries topped with Big Bob Gibson’s pulled pork and cheese sauce.
Guests can wash their burgers down with local brews from Avondale Brewing Co., Good People Brewing Co., Back Forty Beer Company and Cahaba Brewing Co. Wine lovers can enjoy a glass of Shack RedTM and Shack WhiteTM wine from the Gotham Project.
As part of Shake Shack’s mission to Stand For Something Good®, the Birmingham Shack will donate all proceeds from soft opening, as well 5 percent of sales from the Pie Oh My concrete throughout the life of the shack, to Cahaba River Society, an organization that restores and protects the Cahaba River watershed and its rich diversity of life.
The 3,520-sq.-ft. Shack will feature an outdoor patio and ample seating for guests. In keeping with Shake Shack’s commitment to green architecture and eco-friendly construction, the Birmingham Shack’s tabletops will be made by CounterEvolution using reclaimed bowling alley lanes; chairs will be designed by Uhuru using sustainable materials; and booths will be crafted by Staach using lumber certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.
The best part? The first 205 people in line when doors open at 11 a.m. on Aug. 22 will receive an order of Big Bob’s Cheese Fries - on us!
