Rosegate Design, located on Cahaba Valley Road just off U.S. 280, features in-store decorating services, custom drapery, custom upholstery, furniture, accessories, lighting, artwork and more.
Owner Abby Leib has been in the business for 17 years, six of which have been at Rosegate. She became the sole owner in January 2020 and leads a team that can help with everything from furniture layouts, repurposing rooms, window treatments, interior and exterior paint colors, and moving things around to create a fresh and vibrant space.
Leib said this is a great industry because of the relationships and visual gratification that she gets to have with her customers and their homes. “It is an open door to new relationships and a wonderful way to brighten up someone’s day and make their space better,” she said.
Rosegate Design has a niche for everyone, whether shopping for a pretty candle that smells amazing, a lamp that is like artwork, a unique accessory that can set off a room, or artwork you don’t see everywhere.
Rearranging your spaces doesn’t always mean having to buy new things. Customers can repurpose things in other rooms to give a room a new look, or opt to give a room a fresh coat of paint. Window treatments always add personality and warmth to a room and are a wonderful finishing touch.
Everyday, the Rosegate team works to improve the lives of their clients by trying to have a personal connection with everyone who shops there. Clients can bring in photos and ideas and the Rosegate team can help them with ideas for their space.
Leib says they like to think of the experience at Rosegate like shopping with your friends who are willing to tell you if you made a good choice or not.
With spring here, ways to brighten up your space include buying or rehanging artwork, putting up spring wreaths and adding floral touches, artificial or real. All of those can bring new life into your home.
“A great way to bring spring into the house is to make or purchase throw pillows for a room,” Leib said. “It brings color and life to a dreary or plain area. You can coordinate with what you have. Add some florals to a space — artificial or real — in order to bring the new life of spring into your home.”
Rosegate’s projects of all sizes and shapes can make a major impact in the life of a family, and Leib said it is always rewarding when the family is all smiles after her team leaves.
“The store is a wonderful place to come in and get ideas on placement, new trends and fun gifts,” Leib said. “It should be on your list to swing in once a month to see what is going on and new in the area.”
