Kim McBrayer says she’s a “recovering Messy.”
“I thought I was the only person who didn’t know how to get organized — like I didn’t get that gene,” she said.
But one day after her son didn’t wear the right shirt to a field trip and got embarrassed, McBrayer hit rock bottom and decided it was time for a change. She started researching and discovering new ways to get her life organized.
“As I began overcoming my own challenges, I discovered people who wanted me to help them, too, and I discovered my calling,” she said.
That was the beginning of Space Cadets, a business McBrayer started in 2001 to help other people simplify their spaces and enjoy the truly important things of life.
At her store in Brook Highland Shopping Center, she offers organizing systems and accessories for every room in your home or office — even your car. Space Cadets can also help you design your closet, help with relocations or offer workshops to help you get organized.
“Spring is the perfect time to shed a little of the winter weight in your home, organizing so you know where everything is and reducing the amount of housework so you can get out and enjoy the warm weather,” McBrayer said.
If you’re struggling to manage the clutter in your life, “there is hope, and we understand,” she said. “Everyone needs a little more organization in their lives! We offer multiple solutions and closets systems to hit every budget, so literally something for everyone.”
