The 16th Annual Shake and Bake 5K will be held in Mt Laurel on Aug. 3.
JohnsonKreis Construction will host the 16th Annual Shake and Bake 5K on Aug. 3. The race will be held in Mt Laurel at 8 a.m. For the fourth consecutive year, JohnsonKreis will donate all money raised to Vapor Ministries.
According to its website, Vapor is a church centered in Sylacauga that benefits third-world countries by alleviating poverty and creating disciples across the globe. Vapor currently has five operating centers in Africa and has helped communities by providing clean water, jobs, businesses and much more.
Locally, Vapor has opened two thrift stores. The thrift stores, located in Birmingham and Vestavia Hills, sell items such as home decor, clothes and books. The stores also benefit local churches and civic groups.
JohnsonKreis boasts 20 locations spanning across the Southeast. According to its website, the company specializes in construction, renovation and repurposing of buildings while also providing clients with other services such as constructability review, value engineering and project budgeting.
JohsonKreis prioritizes relationships between business partners and flawless completion of all projects. The company strives to bring the vision of others to life while focusing on sustainability and environmental conservation.
Last year’s race attracted over 100 runners from the Birmingham area and other states such as Texas and New Jersey. Awards will be given out to the top two male and female finishers in each age group, and the top two overall males and females.
Registration for the Shake and Bake 5K is $20 until midnight Aug. 1.
