The Chelsea City Council on Tuesday is set to consider whether to join a lawsuit against fire truck manufacturers over alleged price-fixing and anti-competitive conduct.
The council is slated to vote on whether to retain the following law firms: Riley & Jackson, Napoli Shkolnik, and Boardman, Carr, Petelos, Watkins, Ogle & Howard as liaison counsel on a contingency basis.
The council will also consider a memorandum of agreement authorizing Mayor Cody Sumners to cover Chelsea's share of annual maintenance for the countywide public safety radio system. The agreement involves Shelby County and multiple municipalities, and Chelsea's estimated annual cost is about $11,845, based on the city's 76 active radio units.
Council members also are set to vote on whether to accept the city's fiscal 2025 audit report and enroll in an agreement with Enterprise Fleet Management. The audit firm, Doeren Mayhew, returned an unmodified opinion, which is the highest level of assurance a city can get on its financial statements.
The council's meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Chelsea City Hall.The full agenda can be viewed at this link.
