Chelsea's National Night Out
Several agencies of the Shelby County area gathered at the Walmart Shopping Center in Chelsea the night of October 6th. Deputy Debbie Sumrall was one of many who organized the event. National Night Out promoted safety and some of the activities at National Night Out included car seat installations, getting free bicycle helmets and touring fire trucks. Families were able to enjoy a night out while learning about options to keep them safe. One vendor was Yellow Dot, an organization that places a yellow dot on your vehicle so that rescue officers will know of any medical issues you might have in case of a car accident. The Shelby County Sheriff's Department invites anyone who could not attend the event to contact them to learn more about general safety tools and aids.
