Members of the Chelsea High School fall play performed at the Chelsea City Council meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 20.
The students performed a scene from Dark of the Moon, a play by Howard Richardson and William Berney. The play follows the story of John, a witch boy who wants to become human after he falls in love with a human girl, Barbara Allen.
The play will be performed at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24 in the Chelsea High School auditorium.
During pre-council, the present council members discussed the Chelsea Community Center. Council member Juanita Champion encouraged the other members to tour the facilities. She also said there are plans to allow community members to use the center facilities, including the workout room and gym, free of charge at first. The meeting room and activity room, however, will be rentable.
In other news, the council approved for the city’s bills to be paid and announced that bids for the concession stand at the new Chelsea sports complex will open on Thursday, Nov. 5.
The next council meeting is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
