Hoover residents advise caution on building performing arts center

Tougher than you think

The idea that any facility in Hoover will "kill" any of those named is laughable. There are performing arts facilities in downtown Bham with capacities of 300, 500, 900, 1000 to 2000 to 2800 to 5000 to 18000. The BJCC alone has facilities of 500, 1000, 2800 and 18000. Throw itn ALys Stephens, the Alabama, the Lyris, Workplay, Iron City and a few others and you can find a room with the right size for your event. Where's the gap?

Also, you can build the building, but booking the acts is challenge. I enjoy the shows at the Hoover library, but booking the acts for 1000 seats or larger requires professional relationships that are hard to develop or access.

I grew up in Hoover, not far from the Met and I can't help noticing the arrogance in the comments by residents. Kill the downtown arts districts hahahahahaha
