The City of Chelsea and the Chelsea Historical Museum will host a Liberty Tree Dedication Ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 29, from 2-4 p.m. as part of the community’s celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.
Members of the Sons of the American Revolution will participate in the ceremony, which will commemorate the Liberty Tree and its significance in American history.
Liberty trees became gathering places and symbols during the years surrounding the American Revolution. Chelsea’s dedication will give residents an opportunity to reflect on the nation’s history and the people and events that helped shape the country’s founding.
Residents, families and history enthusiasts are invited to attend the ceremony.
