0714 Chelsea Road Resurface
The planned resurfacing project for Chelsea Road (County Road 47) will run 8.5 miles between County Road 49 and State Highway 25.
Shelby County will be resurfacing Chelsea Road starting Wednesday, as long as there is good weather.
Shelby County engineer Randy Cole said this phase of the road resurfacing could cause traffic disruptions.
“[Drivers should] avoid it if possible because you’ll be inconvenienced for several days,” Cole said.
The operation is weather-dependent, and if the rain holds off Cole expects the project to wrap up in a few days. But if rain comes in, there may not be much progress in the crack-sealing operation.
The project will start around 8 a.m., and Cole said drivers should “leave a little bit early and prepare for delays.”
Resurfacing will occur on Chelsea Road between County Road 49 and Alabama Highway 25.
