The Shelby County Sheriff’s office continues their search for a suspect who robbed the OrthoExpress Urgent Care at 104 Chelsea Point Drive, across from the Chelsea Walmart on U.S. 280.
The robbery took place around 10:30 a.m. Friday morning. The sheriff’s office posted an update on their Facebook page shortly after alerting the public that deputies were actively searching for the robbery suspect in the area of U.S. 280 and Old Hwy. 280.
The suspect is a black male approximately 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds, who was wearing a black hoodie and grey pants or black shorts. He was armed and should be considered dangerous. He was last seen in the area of Old Hwy 280, between U.S. 280 and Polo Way.
Residents will see an increased police presence in the area and should immediately call 911 to report any suspicious activity. Residents in this area are encouraged to lock their doors and remain inside their residence.
Captain Jay Fondren with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office said that no one at the business was physically assaulted, but the business and people inside were robbed.
“Once we put the word out, we got word of thousands of sightings, but have found nothing yet,” he said. “It is possible had a getaway car pretty close. Officers are still in the area looking and we are continuing to follow up on leads.”
Fondren urges anyone who sees anything out of the ordinary or suspicious to call 911.
Updates will be posted on the Shelby County Sheriff’s Facebook as more information becomes available.
