The Shelby County Commission plans to hold a work session at 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, to hear from county department heads about their 2027 budget requests.
Shelby County Manager Chad Scroggins and Chief Financial Officer Brian Wheeler on Aug. 10 told the commission the county expects to have $94.5 million in revenues in fiscal 2027, but this will be the first public presentation about requested expenditures.
The commission plans to vote on a 2027 budget on Sept. 14.
The County Commission has its regular action meeting scheduled for 6 p.m. on Monday. Both the budget hearings with department heads and the action meeting are scheduled to take place at the County Administration Building at 200 West College St. in Columbiana. All the meetings are open to the public.
