Running for Place 3 on the Chelsea City Council.
Chris Thomas is challenging incumbent Chris Grace for Place 3 on the Chelsea City Council.
Thomas, 57, is a lifelong resident of Chelsea and was a previous candidate for city council.
He has worked in the school system for 28 years and for Jim ‘n Nicks in Greystone for 21 years.
Thomas said he is in touch with several aspects of the city and the needs and wants of all ages. He said he feels he can work with the mayor and the present council, as he is used to being in a position to look at several avenues to accomplish a goal.
His decision to run has been a goal of his for the past five years. He wants to be a part of a rapidly expanding city that he has lived in his entire life. His goal is to continue the progress the council has made, but to add a perspective from a lifelong resident that has praised some of the progress, but also understands some of the issues and needs of people that have been in Chelsea before any of the current council members or the mayor.
Thomas graduated from Chelsea High School and attended the University of Montevallo.
